Nathan Land family papers, 1835-1883.

Personal letters, business records, and land records relating to Nathan and his family. Letters from most of his children appear in Folder 2-03. A slave bill of sale is filed with land records, and a letter from A.H. [Alfred Holt] Colquitt, 1874, is with incoming business letters. Many of the papers are legal records, including the Richard Ricks Estate Records.

This Twiggs Co., GA, family moved to Cass Co., GA in 1848. Nathan Land (1812-1880), a farmer and lawyer, served as Cass (later Bartow) County Ordinary.
